Academic

Dr Nabavi has actively involved in teaching and training of a variety of professionals concerning mental health disorders. In addition, he regularly supervises medical students attached to his clinical team, to whom he provides formal and informal teaching, as well as supervising them with their research and audit projects.

Dr Nabavi has also been involved in carrying out research in the fields of anxiety and mood disorders, psychopharmacology, treatment of psychoses and adult ADHD, as well as non-adherence and comorbidity. His research into a meta-analysis of the prevalence rate of comorbid anxiety disorders in bipolar affective disorders was awarded with the ‘Research Presentation Prize of 2014’ from the Royal College of Psychiatrists, West Midlands Division.

In the past two years, Dr Nabavi has published two peer-review papers, as well as presenting five posters in national and international meetings and conferences. In addition, within the last year, he has delivered more than 20 formal presentations in academic meetings and congresses.
